Dr Nasir Wabe is a Senior Research Fellow at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation, Macquarie University. With a multidisciplinary background in pharmacy, epidemiology, and data science, he brings extensive expertise in outcome-based health services research, health informatics, and the quality use of medicines. Dr Wabe leads the Aged Care Evaluation and Research (ACER) stream within the Institute, driving innovative research focused on improving aged care. His stream currently leads or contributes to six large-scale research projects exceeding $13 million in total funding. As a Chief Investigator, Dr Wabe has secured over $11 million in competitive research grants. He has published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles and maintains a strong track record of impactful research.
Dr Wabe is recognised internationally for his leadership in aged care research. He is an Associate Fellow of interRAI and collaborates closely with the interRAI Network for Integrated Care & Aging (iNICA), a global consortium spanning 35 countries that is dedicated to enhancing quality of life and care for vulnerable populations across health and aged care systems.
