Diana Horvatovic
Chief Executive Officer
St. Basil's Aged Care NSW & ACT
Diana, the first female CEO of St Basil's, brings a wealth of experience to her role, combining her background in finance and aged care with a Master of Science in Dementia Care and Management. Her career transitioned from finance to aged care in the early 2000s, leading to leadership roles at RSL Aged Care and HammondCare, and senior management positions in the Department of Health and Ageing. Diana's expertise in governance and stakeholder management led to her recruitment as a consultant for St Basil’s, the aged care provider of the Greek Orthodox Church in Australia, where she addressed governance challenges. Her success in this role resulted in an invitation to become Head of Governance and Compliance, where she overhauled compliance across all facilities.
As a former government regulator, Diana identified systemic issues in the aged care industry, working with non-compliant providers to ensure adherence to the Aged Care Act. Attracted by the opportunity to drive change and the smaller size of St Basil's, she has focused on improving governance and compliance. Under her leadership, the organization has shifted from a top-heavy model to one that empowers frontline staff and promotes inclusiveness. Diana prioritizes transparency and quality care, stabilizing the organization for future growth.
